Food and atmosphere is good, but service is really what makes the place great

I had the privilege to be one of the first to discover this gem. Indonesian food is well-known in the Netherlands, because of our colonial past with Indonesia. I am already familiar with Indonesian kitchen, but Bistrobar Indonesia takes it to a new level with modern combinations and surprisingly tasty twists. A bit above average as in pricing, but the high quality of ingredients and amazing dishes makes it worthwhile. Last but not least, the atmosphere in this old renovated bank is unique.
The picture of empty plates should illustrate how wonderful a meal here is. Celebrated my birthday with friends and we had an assortment of smaller dishes to share - everything was perfect; flavours, textures, spices. Drinks were great (fantastic choice of gin). Can’t wait to return & can’t recommend more.
Indonesian food to share. Portions are good enough to just squeeze in a desert. Good atmosphere.
We had the Rijstafel with different small plates to share and no appetizer. It was very delicious and more than enough for two good eater. The mocktails/cocktails we has were one of a kind and tasty as well! The service was very attentive and welcoming.
