Spent several years time on terrace in June and just now in second half of September 2020 after some intense biking tracks. Poor logistics. Poor corona-policy adherence. Drinks were served, but additional quick-food portions like ‘bitter ballen’ either did not arrive at all or were said to delivered far beyond acceptable time limits for which servants blamed the kitchen (who else could be to blame other than oder not being placed correctly?). Same held for diner a year ago when wine arrived after having finished diner (and no, we do not eat that fast!). So skipped diner plans for this year.

On a tour of the south of Netherlands by myself, I stopped past Imperator for a quick beer. After chatting to the owner behind the bar and sampling some of his beer recommendations I left 2 hrs later. Great place, great service, great beer!
Very nice place with good service and very good menu and nice ambient
Better for teenagers and young people
Really excellent food, high quality ingredients with artisan chef skills, and accurately priced. Great beer as well. Cozy interior and patio seating. Only complaint about this place (and all the restaurants in Gulpen for that matter) is the strange hours of operation. They closed the kitchen at 9pm on Tuesday.
