You can buy 6 tickets both for the palace and the castle tours. Very well preserved castle. Takes about 10 minutes to visit. Great views.

Actually a highlight of my trip. Beautiful, well kept, very original, showing castellations, portcullis, murder holes and features no longer present on many castles.
It is included in the ticket you pay for the palace if you choose the combo (6 euros). You can visit super fast in less than 10 minutes and having some good views of Guimarães. I have been in better castles but this is just 5 mins away from the palace and near the little church, so worth to visit if you have some time
Portugal was born in Guimarães, so this castle is an important historical point. In my opinion, the castle could be more well preserved. Nevertheless, we should visit it to encourage authorities to keep maintaining it.
Its a cool place. Not much to see (buts its reflected in the price). Worth going for a short visit.
