Grumbles Reviews | Rating 4,4 out of 5 stars (5 reviews)

Grumbles is located in London, United Kingdom on 35 Churton St, Lillington and Longmoore Gardens. Grumbles is rated 4.4 out of 5 in the category bar in United Kingdom. Grumbles is a well established (1964) English Bistro that serves great food and excellent wines at extremely friendly prices. We began in 1964. It was the time of the Beatles and Rolling Stones and an air of great fun. Anything seemed possible, it was the Sixties! Grumbles was the first restaurant in London with a silly name! In the early days as we rushed around the tables, we hardly had time to notice the faces of the likes of Beatles, Mamas and Papas, Julie Christie, Michael Foot, Christine Keeler, Ian le Frenais, Rod Steiger and so many many more as well as Jane Lapotaire sometimes helping with the Founder Jeremy Friend washing up!Grumbles and its customers have been such a winning combination for over forty years and we thank you for all your support.

Quirky atmosphere.Three of us went and we all had the Grumbles Steak with a mustard and sugar crust, each done slightly differently. Excellent! And the recommended wine of the week on the chalk board, a Chilean carmentere, complimented the food to a t.

OMG gem of a place in Pimlico. Lovely quaint restaurant, relaxing atmosphere with great service topped off by welcoming owners/staff. The menu selections were just right and prices very affordable. Would certainly recommend this place

Love the old world timber finishes. Food is exceptional. The sauces which accompany most dishes are pieces of magic. Friendly staff. Great experience every time. Thanks Grumbles!

What a lovely place! My parents discovered it 10 years ago when they visited London for the first time and since then it is on the must-do list when they come here. The menu is always changing but the classics stay. Everything fresh and great taste, highly recommended!

What a wonder of a place. Decor unchanged since it opened in 1964, Grumbles exists in another space and time and is all the more glorious for it. Menu is solidly old school - if you're looking for quinoa or fusion cuisine, look elsewhere - well executed and very good value. Add a good and reasonably priced wine list and friendly staff and you have the recipe for a delightful experience. There are so few places like this left. They must be treasured and kept as busy as possible, otherwise we'll lose them forever. And that really would be something to grumble about.
