Grove Court Care Home - Elizabeth Finn Homes Ltd

My mother in law stayed at Grove Court for 2 weeks for respite. Unfortunately despite good online reviews and our initial meeting with the manager which made the care home sound amazing, her stay was nothing like how it was portrayed. The food was poor – very small quantities. The staff although mostly pleasant were very busy. My mother in law only had 2 baths and one shower during her 2 weeks there. When she asked for more she was told they didn’t have time! Her bed sheets were not changed once during the two weeks despite there being blood on one of her pillows. Her room was very small. There was just a bed and 2 armchairs no table and chair to sit up and eat food at just a hospital wheeled tray which was not comfortable at all for her. Basically I felt she was fed and left in her room for 2 weeks with little contact or encouragement to integrate from anyone. Very disappointed with her stay. My mother in law refers to her time here as when she was in prison. She is now a permanent resident at Alice Grange which she absolutely loves so this is not a reflection on care homes in general.
