Had a meal with our neighbours We all had steak, cooked perfect to our tastes and fantastic deserts
Friendly service and fantastic food. Had the half Piri Piri chicken. Quite possibly the single most tastiest chicken I've ever eaten. And the lime mayo was delicious. Dad had the Rebellion Beer battered haddock, crisp batter on the outside yet jucy and flakey inside.
Sat in the covid safe outdoor area. Freezing cold. Inadequate heaters but a nice place. Could borrow a blanket for 5 deposit.
I don’t do reviews as often as I should, but when I do it’s either because of a very good experience or a very bad one. This was the former. A new venue for me but taking advantage of the ‘eat out to help out’ initiative I booked a table with my grown up children. 1st impression was the service. They were all super friendly & helpful, one dark haired young lady in particular though didn’t catch her name. Food was very good too and unlike some on this initiative they didn’t have a limited menu. My last review 2 weeks ago for another venue (in another part of the UK) was the complete opposite resulting in no tip, so I was more than happy to give twice as much to these charming people. Well done Grouse & Ale, I will be back and please ensure you applaud your staff.
