Me and a friend had lunch at The Ugly Duck today. It was very nice and the thing I liked the most is the fact that there were so many gluten free option so my friend didn't have to worry about that. It was cozy and not too busy. I don't know exactly what I would want to see to give it a five, but I'm very keen on coming back and deciding that. But the initial feeling is that it was really nice. The food was good and exactly enough as well for the price.

Just because of the service alone worth 5 stars! Staff is very friendly and efficient. When my s.o. couldn't decide what to have the waiter asked what she was deciding between and then promptly offered to have a bit of both. Unheard of in the Netherlands! food was served quickly and nice enough. We have found our place to go! 12/10 recommend!
I absolutely love this place! I come here often for lunch or in the evening. I love their mustard soup, kroket and beers. Inside it feels so cozy!
This is definitely my favourite place for an enjoyable lunch in the middle of Groningen! Lunch menu is fantastic.
The Ugly duck, don't get put off by its name, if you're looking for a friendly place that will suit GF and non GF this is a great place. Let them know and they will bring the right menu, and check. Nice selection of beers, and the food is varied and tasty. Staff friendly and speak multiple languages. Go have a nice lunch in the sun.
