Preipop is a free festival that has been held every year since February 2007 at the premises of student association Cleopatra A.S.G. in Groningen. Preipop offers a platform for new talent from the Netherlands, and the surroundings of Groningen in particular. What makes the festival special is its broad programming. From intimate singer / songwriter music to pounding rock, from relaxed jazz to energetic ska: you'll find it all at Preipop. In addition to starting talent, there are also some more established names at each edition. For example, at the very first edition, "The Heavens Devils"​, a band that has already won several pop prizes, played. Other highlights included "the Swains (2008)"​, "A Silent Express (2010)"​ and "A Liquid Landscape (2011)"​.
