Wow! We took the tasting menu which was amazing. We loved every single dishes! Everything was delicious, tasty and surprising. Although I have to admit that was way too much food for two people :)

The food was stunning, fresh and well prepared. We met the Icelandic chef who is brilliant. I loved the king crab appetizer and we had the combination seafood and meat plates. All excellent. The chocolate dessert was sensational. Good wine list. Great service.
Fantastic restaurant in the middle of Reykjavik. Classy interior with quite a bit of space, good for couples and groups as well. Friendly and professional staff, all with impeccable English. Fantastic menu, whale is a must try. Decent portions at prices which are par for the course in Iceland. Would very much recommend..

Everything was amazing. Friendly and kind staff willing to answer all our questions about local dishes and products. The tasting menu is strongly recommended. One of the best places for fine dining with a local touch.
For our 4-day stay in Iceland, we wanted to include a single up-market dining experience. Based on the reviews from Google, we chose Grillmarkaðurinn (The Grill Market), and we were not disappointed. Arriving 15 minutes ahead of our reservation time, we were warmly greeted and immediately seated at a wonderful table in a semi-private area of the restaurant. Our evening was filled with excellent food and top-notch, professional service from our server, Delia, and from our runner, whose name I really wish I could remember. Upon taking our order, Delia clearly explained the tasting menu options and provided an excellent wine recommendation for the meal. Our runner delivered each course in a timely manner - nicely spaced, neither too soon nor too late with each course - with a clear and knowledgeable description of each item. And throughout the meal, Delia kept our bottle of wine on ice near the table and always refreshed our glasses at the right moment. The meal itself was divine, consisting of four appetizers, three entrees, and a tasty dessert platter. The highlights of our dinner was the smoked Arctic char, the grilled shark, and the fillet of lamb. Easily, the best tasting and most well-prepared lamb we've ever had. The hearty dessert platter was a sweet and wonderful dénouement to our experience. If you're planning your trip to Reykjavik, be sure to include Grillmarkaðurinn during your visit. You will be as pleased as we were.
The first thing you notice here is the fantastic decor and atmosphere. I have attached an image of the wonderful bathroom sink. The food is fantastic, and so is the service. Lots of good wines, although they can be quite pricey. Overall, a fantastic experience.
Really nice stylish restaurant which (unsurprisingly) prides itself on its grill. Delicious skewers and steaks, beef, lamb and fish, with unusual local varieties like whale and horse also available! Staff were very friendly and helpful.
