It’s true what they say! Today was my mother’s 66th birthday and all she wanted was a Greggs vegan sausage roll. Her request was granted and let me tell you, she was not disappointed. She bit into it and then asked “Is your’s meat?” “Yes,” said I. She replied, with astonishment, “ Because, I honestly couldn’t tell this wasn’t meat.” “The pastry stripes are different,” explained my father, and we all laughed heartily. Thank you, Greggs for making my mum’s dream come true.
We went in here because I really wanted to try their vegan sausage roll. What I wasn't expecting was for it not to be served up warm. Who wants a cold sausage roll? We were told it was that good old staple \Health & safety\. What hogwash! They can serve drinks so hot you can't drink them for 5 minutes as you would scold your mouth, but they can't serve a warm sausage roll. Does that mean that Cornish pasties are also served cold- even in Winter, when you really want something warm inside you? This is a shame, as we gave the sausage roll a quick blast in the microwave when we got home and really enjoyed it. But, we won't go again. Oh, and the staff are as miserable as sin!
