A smashing old-world vibe serving great beer and ale along with amazing food. Probably one of the best Sunday roasts I've had for a long while all set in an authentic middle-earth tavern in the shires. Would highly recommend. A

Fantastic and historic pub. Decent ales and a great food menu (currently served al fresco due to covid) with a lovely beer garden and fantastic flower displays. Friendly staff and customers make it an ideal place to stop off for refreshments.
Very pretty place , friendly service and helpful staff. Large portions on the sundays roasts. The only thing letting this pub down was the inconsiderate dog owners who did not clean up after their dogs in the gardens. Unfortunately a staff member stepped in one whilst we were eating our meals.. not a pleasant experience. ( awful smell ) To their credit they did as good a job of cleaning up as they could in one areas, Unfortunately not in another area where more dog mess had been left. The staff are rushed off their feet serving and delivering food and bar and drinks orders are in a queue due to social distancing rules. We are happy to wait as it keeps everyone safe. Sensible people order their rounds upfront for their time at the venue. Although wasps were an issue. I would go back when next in the area but if there was still an issue with dog mess around tables you eat at, I wouldn't go there again. Maybe they should provide complimentary dog poo bags and put up a few signs for inconsiderate dog owners.
Lovely pub. The food was divine and the staff were ever so friendly. They also found a quick way into my heart by being friendly and kind to my dog. So glad we found this treasure!!
Fantastic garden full of flowers. Huge range of ciders and ales. Really interesting menu with good quality food. Juicy corn cobs. Seasoned chunky chips, goat/mutton curry with rice and peas, butterfly chicken in black treacle and chilli. Staff frazzled (crazy busy bank holiday) but still friendly and helpful. All the necessary COVID alterations in place. Soaping and drying down the tables and benches. (We didn't go inside so can't comment) *Highly* recommend this place. So much more than your average pub.
