150 years since this beautiful Orthodox Church was built in a once grand area. Just added some more pictures. This Greek Orthodox Church of Saint Nicholas is a Grade 11 Listed building in Toxteth, Liverpool, situated at the junction of Berkley Street and Princess Road. It was built in 1870 in the Neo-Byzantine architecture style. Architects were W. & J. Hay. Built by Henry Summers. It is an enlarged version of Saint Theodore's church in Constantinople (converted and is now the Vefa Kilisi mosque.

I visited this church on the liverpool open days. Its such a beautiful historic church, so well kept by volunteers.well worth a visit if the opportunity arises.
Beautiful church and calming atmosphere, but in my opinion, not very welcoming to new comers - especially if you don't speak the language or are not European. Kinda left to figure things out by myself, and felt some of the leaders were cold

Impressive and wanted to visit it, unfortunately it is open only 2 hours/week, on Sundays, between 11 and 13.... Why?
