Close to Maghull Station and the local busses, this is well worth a visit. Quality food and excellent value for money. \Light Bites\ on the menu, for those with a smaller appetite. A pleasant, clean environment with friendly, helpful, efficient staff. Good real ales as well (added bonus) plus Beck's Blue as a non-alcoholic option. As a Greene King Pub I'm surprised they didn't have the low-alcohol \Old Speckled Hen\, which for many would be a better option! One for them to consider perhaps?

We visited on Sunday for a roast dinner with some nervous family members. The food was great, but hats off to the staff for all their hard work making the pub safe. Social distancing in place, tables well spaced out and the pub was spotless. Thank you also to the staff who went out of their way to welcome my older, nervous family members, helping them to feel at ease. Well done The Mogul!
Meal booked for 12 o'clock, car park still had chain across at 12 o'clock, which I nearly drove into because it's not that visible. Why can't the chain be removed 15 minutes before you open? The meal was fine and good value for the money, but was spoilt by beer barrels being banged around, which I assumed was a delivery, music was too loud and was given a dirty glass.
Lovely atmosphere, great helpful staff
Charming location, good atmosphere but the waitress seemed annoyed to have to help us. She just threw the menus on the table, said “there you go” and walked away! I got the Chicken Tikka my sister got the 1/2 lb Cheese Burger. We weren’t impressed enough with the food to make up for the unfriendly service.
