Arrived after an exploratory trip out whilst on holiday. I fancied take away, the wife wanted to sit in. You'll never guess what happened? Sat in the restaurant I noticed how dated it appeared and that it could do with an update/refurb' as soon as. The two girls waiting ok were helpful and busy ,cleaning the table as customers left - nice to see. I ordered the standard fish and chips and the result was awesome! A large, beautifully cooked meal. Chips - lightly browned, dry and cooked to perfection no sodding triple cooking here! The fish - two fillets in a light, golden batter, no grease or lake of oil underneath. Finally, aportion of mushy peas on the plate and not in a stupid little dish(a personal bugbear). A fabulous meal, beautifully cooked, great value. Anyone concerned about the cost? Get the same meal across the border and see how much it trashes your wallet!

Passing by after a long drive from Carlisle. To be honest I was going to go somewhere else as it didn't look that appealing from the outside. Well looks can be deceiving as the fish and chips were outstanding. 2 nice sized fillets in the standard portion, lovely batter quite different to other establishments crispy but light and no grease at all. Would certainly return without hestiation.

Easily some of the best fish and chips ever! Hot and fresh from the fryer. Crisp and tasty. Clearly, judging by the queue round the block, very popular locally, and for good reason

Lovely wee chippy , nice fish , and the do small suppers to I.e one sausage in a small sausage supper 3.50, that's cheap!!
