The Gouwekerk was built in the early 18th century but was burned down a few decades later. In the 1850's a new church was placed with a new name: St. Jozefkerk. It got stuck stuck into cunstruction hell untill the early 20th century when it received its current name 'Gouwekerk' The Dutch evangelical Johan Maasbracht bought the church in the 70's. He sold the church on Christmas day in 2018 to a commercial enterprise that temporarily placed an ice rink in it and various commercial markets. For those who want to seek spiritual help, might get dissatisfied because of its current ownership.
Beautiful former Catholic Church! A pity it is not open. Make it a garden and meeting place!
Apparently they use the church for various events. It's sad that a place that once was dedicated to peace and reflection is turned today into a shopping mall hell.
