Gondola Fish Chips&pizzeria

Absolutely the best pizza in town!! Made right in front of you with fresh dough and authentic pizza toppings . One of the best pizzas I’ve tasted...!! I also ordered a special fish... Wow.., I couldn’t believe the size..., and the quality and freshness..! Definitely a hidden gem... well worth a visit if you value great quality food at very reasonable prices..

What can I say. Well it's a chippy and pizzeria. The pasta dishes are freshly cooked and always tasty. Macaroni cheese is very good. All pasta dishes come with two slices of garlic bread. The sausage supper is reasonable. Although lately the chips have been quite \bitty\ with lots of small hard bits. Onion rings are brilliant. And for 2.20 you get a really good sized portion of proper onion rings. Overall I'd recommend The Gondola. Just avoid a Saturday tea time when the older guy is frying up a storm rather than doing what the weekday guys do and only fry when they need to. Ok that can lead to a wait but for freshly made food it's worth it.

As chip shops go this is one of the best. The fish is fresh and I can recommend the steak pie suppers.. And there pizza is dynamite forget the over price from the usual big pizza places

love this fish and chip shop the special fish is a must if you have not tried it already food is fresh . staff are great and so friendly. delivery is really quick. highly recommend the gondola for local and if your passing by for a lovely chippy night

Under New Management and I honestly wish it hadn't changed. I stopped by and the attitude was great but my order would take a few minutes, which is perfect for me as I'd prefer to have it fresh. I took a seat and a rush of people came in, so they took priority over me and I wasn't even bothered because the guy told me mine was ready so I knew I'd be served soon. The ladies behind the counter were undermined by the guy who looked as though he was in charge. Basically telling the ladies everyone's orders at the same time which confused everyone's bills. I sat back and watched as my dinner was sitting to the side so I knew it was safe. I then almost got charged twice and I would have because the cost of my dinner was about 60% of the price I've paid elsewhere so I appealed to the lady who took my cash and she remembered I had paid and said yeah that's fine, you can just go. This made me feel as though I was cheating them in some way so I didn't feel good leaving. Anyway, I get home and my food tastes as if it was cooked and sat under a hot light for ages so maybe the settings are off? The fritters were so stale I genuinely had to stop eating...at least it's good for the diet! Haha
