Staff are helpful, facilities are awful. Site not big enough. Stepped access to skips? How is that safe in the rain carrying heavy items? Awful. Derbyshire Council-please sort this out.

Really disappointed on my visit to Glossop recycling centre today, unfortunately my car registration was even and they were only accepting odd numbers. As there was no queue I kindly asked the lady if I could drop off my 1 large cardboard box and small box of cardboard. She was pleasant and said that she wasn’t able too. I explained that I am a paramedic and have been on shift so unable to get there yesterday and she mentioned I could try and phone the council number on the sign to see if they would authorise an exception for me. I spoke to a lovely lady on the phone and they gave the ok providing I was able to prove my key worker status. I had my identification with me but I was informed that the owner still refused my entry and he had final say seeing as the land is privately owned.
Really handy, friendly staff and a good system in operation during lockdown. If you pick your time, you will avoid the queues.
