Not been here much since my childhood days, but it’s a nice place to go while we’re in partial lockdown. It’s a large sprawling English style park with many walkways, both paved and unpaved through wooded areas. The park has a pond, greenhouse and a rose garden, the latter dedicated to Scottish poets. Nice place for some walking.
Beautiful park which offers so much. Can see whole of Glasgow from top view point in the park.
A nice and green place to roam around this lockdown. Wish we could have gone little earlier, it was dark soon.
It's a lovely park and very popular for the whole of Glasgow's Southside. It has its own duckpond/ice -skating pond (if you're lucky to visit on a rare day it's frozen over) and you can often find the swans there. At the top/east of the park is the flagpole viewpoint, with a steep walk up to the top. It provides beautiful panoramic views of Glasgow as well as the distant Kilpatrick hills and hills at the Southern edges of Loch Lomond. Well worth being out of puff for. The park has various sports fields including a small golf course and bowling green The park does not currently have any public toilets. There are various points of access to the park by foot, but no dedicated car park. There is some onstreet parking but note that much of the local area is metred or permit parking.
