Having not picked up my guitar in quite a few years, Martyn has made me fall in love with guitar again. Lessons are fun and never feel formal. As well as having amazing playing skills and a great depth of knowledge, Martyn always goes out his way to make sure you learn not just the fundamentals, but also what YOU want to learn. If there’s a song or a riff I want to learn, Martyn will listen to it, tab it out for me and help me learn it. I never planned on learning theory, but just from doing our lessons, I now have the motivation to learn as much as possible! I would 100% recommend Martyn, whether you are just a beginner or looking reach that next step in your playing!

Have been taking Beginner Acoustic Guitar lessons from Martyn for several months . Martyn teaches in a relaxed, friendly environment and has helped me to play various songs. You can learn at your own pace without any pressure at all. Martyn has also helped me improve my technique, and covers the music theory you need to know . He is a very knowledgeable Musician teaching both acoustic and electric and as such I would recommend him as a Guitar Tutor.

My 11 year old daughter and I have been taking lessons with Martyn for about 8 months now. We started initially with face to face lessons but had to switch to Skype lessons due to the pandemic. Martyn is a fantastic, patient teacher. We've both come on a lot with his help, I am a lapsed former guitarist who could only play basic chords but can now play some Spanish Guitar Standards and my daughter is a complete beginner who is quickly picking up guitar basics and some singing! Skype lessons have been good, possibly not as good as face to face but it does mean that we don't have to brave the Glasgow weather in the evening to travel. We'd both say that progress has continued at speed despite moving to Skype lessons. Overall I'd highly recommend Martyn if you're looking for a guitar teacher.

Having listened to many world class guitarists over the years the first thing that strikes you is that Martyn is an incredibly capable guitarist, the real deal. And this is matched by Martyn's ability to teach. Knows the subject inside out and makes it all interesting as well. I'm lucky enough to be a current pupil of Martyn's. Thanks for all your help. Alan
