I stand corrected. Gil's has not closed permanently, which is a relief because it was a venue of first choice with a friend - our first coffee together since the March lockdown. So pleased to know that Gil's will rise again. There are not so many good eating places that we can afford to lose one. My apologies for error.

Just been to Gil's for afternoon tea. A lovely tea room, with friendly staff. Afternoon tea was delicious sandwiches freshly made & a lovely selection of fillings. All cakes are homemade & delicious. Will definitely be back for more
We booked the back room for a toddler party. It was perfect as we had our own area away from everyone else. The mummy's ordered a plentiful afternoon tea, which certainly seemed to go down very well. The daddy's had a delicious full English breakfast. I must say the sausage and bacon were scrumptious, you could tell they were quality ingredients, as opposed to the cheap meat you get from a lot of cafes. In terms of staff they were very friendly and attentive. Nothing was too much trouble for Gil, who even managed to find time to play with the babies. He was very understandin of how lively toddlers can be, and made us feel so incredibly welcome. Overall superb food, really friendly staff and more than reasonably priced. Will definitely be going back

We had afternoon tea today it was wonderful the food was amazing, the staff was so helpful and the owner is the most amazing gentleman nothing is to much trouble. He made us feel like we were part of his family
