We have stopped here for coffee a few times when we have been nearby during a trip - it's a lovely place and the owners seem like really nice people, always very friendly. There is a nice seating area indoors but we usually prefer to sit outside and enjoy the view of the bay - there is an old ship wreck nearby and at the right time of year, lots of colourful shells! We haven't tried the food as we usually bring meals with us when camping, but as others have said the menu looks good and very extensive! There was hand sanitiser available and staff were wearing masks so I felt like it was pretty Covid safe, however the indoor seating is quite cosy so I would recommend sitting outside if you were very worried about it.

This is our 2nd visit to this gorgeous restaurant. Very well thought out and have a massive selection of food tailored to all. Nothing is too much trouble and the kids were well looked after. We would recommend to everyone, even far out people, make the journey and you wont be disappointed.

Best kept secret in Torridon. Always a welcome place to get excellent local food and drink in a beautiful part of the world. An independent restaurant with the decor all hand made by the owners expect local seafood and an experimental menu.

Wonderful. I’ve been wanting to eat at the Gille Brighde for some time. On my first traverse of the Bealach na Gaoithe I arrived at Diabaig only to find the the establishment closed as it does not open on Mondays or Tuesdays. Subsequent holidays in Wester Ross have been in winter when the restaurant is off season, either way journeys from Poolewe/Gairloch would be subject to short daylight and/or driving conditions. I’d read the reviews which are glowing about the quality of the food and Aart and Amanda’s warm hospitality, add the beauty of the location, dog friendliness and of course, that spectacular mountain road, all put the Gille Brighde high on my ‘must visit’ list. I achieved my aim on their first day ‘out of lockdown’, with my party and Sheltie dog. If my expectations were high from the outset, then the Gille Brighde certainly didn’t disappoint. The meal was absolutely fantastic. Each course exquisitely prepared and delicious. On future visits there is much on the menu I’’d love to order, and that it itself will be difficult not to have the monkfish again, having thoroughly enjoyed my main course. Aart and Amanda were absolutely the charming hosts I’d read of in the reviews, who make the the dining experience as enjoyable as possible. Myself and my party, all look forward to our future visits, and we will return. The Gille Brighde is an absolute wee gem.
