Drove through on the way up to Seattle, it’s a big forest, fresh clean and a couple of million pine trees. We were there in May and there was still a lot of snow around.

Great place to getaway and camp in the hot summer. Many water choices, creeks, and a few lakes, to cool off. Great for picking huckleberries. Goose lake is good for trout fishing.

Beautiful, remote, scenic, and definitely worth the drive. If you have time you should go and see Panther Creek Falls which is close nearby. There are 1/10 as many other visitors there(easy parking and access by foot) than at Lower Lewis Falls.

it was a great forest but not enough butterflies for me. I barely had enough to make my famous butterfly Mac and cheese but besides that overall pretty good.
