Impressive fountain. Can be seen from many parts of the city. You can get very close to it, but watch the wind direction as you could get soaked!

Being able to walk it and see it so close is a nice experience! Take in the wind direction tho, as it might blow right on the path, or bring an umbrella not to get soaked.

The Jet d'Eau Water-Jet is a large fountain in Geneva, Switzerland and is one of the city's most famous landmarks, being featured on the city's official tourism web site and on the official logo for Geneva's hosting of group stage matches in the 2008 UEFA Euro. Situated where Lake Geneva exits as the Rhône, it is visible throughout the city and from the air, even when flying over Geneva at an altitude of 10 kilometres. Five hundred litres of water per second are jetted to an altitude of 140 metres by two 500 kW pumps, operating at 2,400 V, consuming one megawatt of electricity. The water leaves the 10 centimetres nozzle at a speed of 200 kilometres per hour. At any given moment, there are about 7,000 litres of water in the air. Unsuspecting visitors to the fountain—which can be reached via a stone jetty from the left bank of the lake—may be surprised to find themselves drenched after a slight change in wind direction

You can spend hours there without getting bored of it! Refreshing in the summer to walk next to it to get a little wet!! Everyone would enjoy this from old people to the youngest :)

Great place for a stroll in the evening. Nice to hangout, bring some food and drinks. Dip your feet in the water....

The Geneva water fountain... Or Le Jet D'eau. If you take a trip down to the lake on the right sunny and windy day, you can snap stunning pictures of the water fountain and the rainbow that starts from it, making it seem like the water jet is a flag pole, and the rainbow is a flag. Absolutely gorgeous.
