A really interesting place to visit if you are interested in historical transport. Situated next to Rushcliffe Country Park it offers a number of attractions, including the steam railway itself, a mini on-site steam train ride, suitable for both adults and children, plus a number of buses from the 50s and 60s eras. The volunteers that run the site are are not only enthusiastic but very helpful. The steam train ride down to Loughborough and back was brilliant. I would highly recommend the place.

A lovely trip on the railway with really nice and helpful staff. We went in off peak so there wasn't much going on around the area, we weren't sure where to buy a ticket or what to do while waiting for the train. My partner's five year old loved looking at the miniature trains and when the steam train pulled in he was just speechless :) I'd go again just for that face of pure joy.
