Disgusting attitudes towards friendly customers... not to mention all locations are filthy and the staff are all the same. Rude inconsiderate and obnoxious The BBQ is burnt dry with sour overly vingarized sauce. Stay far from GATES “of hell” Enjoy a friendlier and tasteful place like the RUB in Overland Park or Jack Stack... great beans and burnt ends!! not over done garbage like Gates..

Excellent Food!!! I can’t say it enough! The ribs, the turkey, the sandwiches down to the pickles. Just delicious and filling. Be prepared with your order and prompt, the customer service aims for fast accuracy. Again, excellent and tender ribs are Stellar!

Great with the mask but they need to get better with the social distancing.

Gates BBQ is a necessary stop if you want a uniquely Kansas City BBQ experience. Part of understanding what it means to eat KC BBQ comes from experiencing the anxiety that comes from being undecide on what delicious option you want to eat while you are repeatedly greeted with \Hi! May I help you?!\ Everything they make is great and their sauce is truly unique. Just be ready to order when you walk in the door!

Pros: 1) Nice building - feels like it has a history 2) No waiters, so no need extra cost from tip Cons: 1) The price - 11-13 for a pretty small sandwich of chopped meat on white bread (with no included sides or drink). So comparatively about 30% too expensive, as I’d expect these sandwiches to be around 8 2) Speaking of the bread, it just ends up getting super soggy and falls apart. 3) The normal and the sweet bbq sauce pretty much taste the exact same, and are both spicy, even though spicy bbq sauce is a separate option. Overall, not much different than store bought sauce in terms of flavor 4) Limited menu options - like how sliced brisket wasn’t an option, only chopped brisket 5) Fatty meat that didn’t have more than an average level of flavor
