Amazing, what a place so worth the climb to get to it. A stunning site to see the water flows down the stream over the rocks to then disappear down a large hole that goes on forever(it appears). Definitely worth a visit and the climb is achievable by most families and children.

Great place! Worth to visit. Beautiful walking route from Clapham. Highly recommended!
Just spectacular! Visited Sept 2020. Walked from Clapham (North Yorkshire) to Ingleborough. Scenic walk; comprising of a beck, woodland, light scrambling, hill, hard and soft surfaces.
Beautiful and quiet walk from Ingleborough Cave. Gaping Gill is located not far from Ingleborough peak. This year, unfortunately not accessible for public rappel into a cave. But looking around is not limited. Along the way I met young people, middle-aged people but also people around 70, I admire these for their perseverance and health. My knees hurt a little on the way back. Overall, I enjoyed this walk.
Walking from Ingleborough submit into Clapham and suddenly near the path, there's this hole in the moor with water pouring into it from a small stream. Apart from a short wire fence at the overlooking head and a warning sign that you may die if you slip and fall in! That's it! Truly awesome geological feature that as you got close to it's edge, made one's heart pound and stomach churn. Fall down that and it's goodbye-cruel-world!
