Great Naeng myun(Korean cold noodle) place. Famous for traditional taste.

There are many types of Pyeongyang Cold Noodles in Seoul that are slightly different in recipes, but the basics are they are clear and with very few condiments, with claims that cucumbers a slice of pork n one of beef be in there. this place is pretty OG in traditional but not as OG OG as Pildong Myeonok in the Jongro District. The taste is pretty bland compared to the more popular mainstream hamheung cold noodles, but get past that initial blandness and you'll appreciate how you can taste each ingredient separately while at the same time they all blend to create a unified smorgasbord in your mouth. Personal suggestion: add vinegar and a pinch of red pepper flakes to help heighten and emulsify the flavors.

The style of eating bulgogi in this restaurant is unique in that it centers around a more wet approach of cooking the meat; the marination sauce plays a gravy-like role during consumption. The cold noodles(냉면) has a deep flavor, so I recommend not overpowering it with any vinegar or mustard.

Good Pyongyang style cold noodles - acquired taste and only for the serious lovers of this style of cuisine (vs. the more popular Hamheung style). Large dumplings are good as are the steamed pork belly dish. Ambience is pretty grim and dire but it's seems intentional. One of few remaining places in the heart of Gangnam where valet-parking is still only KRW2,000 (as of Oct. 2020). Expect waiting queues during peak weekday lunch hours, especially during the summers.

A must visit for buckwheat noodle lovers. The flavors are spot on, and they use good ingredients, so whether you have their dumplings or bulgogi or noodles, you don’t walk away with bad taste in your mouth, which can happen sometimes if the place uses too much MSG or low quality seasoning. Authentic flavors, efficient service, humble joint.
