Perfectly located in a cool hip side street with plenty of shops and cafes leading straight to Unawatuna beach. This place was excellent for NYE as we were close to the beach but far enough not to hear the music when we called it quits! Room was well furnished, nicely decorated and the garden/common area was very well kept. Staying here contributed to Unawatuna being my favourite place yet in Sri Lanka!
The common areas are lovely and it's great sitting out and just chilling for a while. The rooms are relatively clean, but we found a spider which wasn't good. Cleaning staff killed and took it away. Besides that the sheets are clean and the bathroom is well maintained. Just a note, the pictures they put up represent a false narrative, the rooms don't look as stunning, but the common areas do
The positive was that the breakfast was fresh. However, since it is strictly B&B water was not provided with breakfast. Manager and housekeeper seemed nonchalant. Manager was unavailable most of the time. The bathroom was not properly working especially the showers. Also cleanliness was a huge issue. Poor services for the price we paid.
Amazing rooms for an amazing price. Highly recommended.
Green Villa Unawatuna 4 Stayed here for two nights in december. We got a fresh room on the second floor with a quite big balcony and an very nice bathroom. The hotels garden is calm and pretty but not really somewhere you would like to hang so I would say this hotel is for sleeping. Wifi working OK, but not great. There was plenty of construction nearby that would wake you up early when we where there. Otherwise not to noisy. The road to Unawatuna beach is not very long but jam packed with traffic so unless you don’t mid getting hit by a tuck tuck it usually takes a good 15 minutes to walk to the beach. We didn’t try the breakfast at the hotel so input reg. their food.
They asked me to cancel my reservation 10 days before arrival. It is impossible for me to find something similar now. Moreover, I can only cancel by paying the full amount so it seems that they have no idea how internet bookings work.
