Courtney Barnard reviewed French Cooking School
I cannot reccomend Kerrouet Culinary School more. Under Chef Poul even the most experienced of our small group of 6 learned the cooking skills and tricks of a Michelan standard. As for those less experienced, myself included, I've emerged from the school a more confident and skilled chef, fully capable of making authentic French cuisine.
More than this, enjoying all the fantastic food we made during our time in Kerrouet would not be nearly as easy without the carefree and effortless hosting of Poul and Niall, who taught us the art of hosting by example. We enjoyed our meals, aperitifs, digestifs, snacks, and afternoon teas/coffees all the more because of the company and the friendliness of our knowledgable hosts in their stunny and cosy home.
Finally, a word on the location of Kerrouet. While the village is somewhat remote, it provides an excellent base for those keen to explore the surrounding medieval towns of Brittany, and we enjoyed walking the beautiful countryside on our free afternoons. The tranquility and peacefulness of Kerroeut provided the perfect place to learn the local cuisine, with all the delicious locally-sourced ingredients used to make the dishes.
For those looking for a relaxed and yet genuine French cooking course, look no further than Kerrouet! The hospitality of Poul and Niall is matched only by the quality of the food you will produce during your time here.
Imogen McGuigan reviewed Black Bear Burger Restaurant Shoreditch
Can. Not. Speak highly enough about Black Bear burger. My partner and I first discovered them a couple of years ago on a date night at box park. We'd had a couple of beers and fancied a burger that tasted half as good as the aroma coming from black bear smelled. We met Stew and Katie who were so lovely and spent a good 10 minutes having a natter while we did a couple of ski shots... may have been Canadian club with maple syrup? Absolutely delicious. Well, we thought it might have been the booze that made it so so tasty but how wrong we were.. we've Been back 4 or 5 times and been served by other staff members and every time we've enjoyed that same consistent burger, as high quality as the last. We always mix it up a bit, a brisket burger or the beef shim nuggets (to die for) but you cannot beat the classic so when lockdown came around and we had to take our date night's at home, I was delighted to see BBB were offering DIY kits and they didn't disappoint. I can guarantee you will not find a better burger in London. Bleecker is a close second but why settle for second? Love love loved it, see you next time when we hope to visit the Brixton restaurant x
Alkesh Attal reviewed Restaurant Orchidée
Must Go.. Just Go..
After nice evening in beautiful town of Vianden, my friends and I wanted to have an Indian Dinner so were looking for good restaurants.
One of our friend insisted on visiting this restaurant as she had already been here before. This made our lives easy and we simply went to Orchidee instead of going through list of all Indian Restaurants and go through the review and decide.
The ambience was nice, the place was clean, spacious and well lit.
Below are the dishes that we tried and their review:
Sweet/Mango Lassi - 5/5 Not so thick and Not too sweet.
Shabji Dal - 4/5 Mix veggies in lentils, was bit mild for our tastebuds, felt like khichdi.
Paneer Tikka Masala - 4/5 Nice taste.
Channa Masala Potatoes - 5/5 Very good taste and only place in Europe, I have found this dish, till now
Green chili curry chicken - 5/5
Naan ( plain/cheese/garlic) - 4/5
Dal Puri - 4/5
Chapati - 5/5 only restaurant where we found proper Indian chapati with ghee, felt like home.
Rashomalai - 3/5
Overall we had a really good time and our tummies were delighted. The prices of the dishes are average.
The hosts and the staff are really nice and cheerful.
