Visiting this location is one of the great blessings in my life. Fatima was the second stop on our pilgrimage that began in Medjugorje and ended in Lourdes. What a pilgrimage it was, a life changing experience for me. While in Fatima we were able to visit the locations where Mary appeared to the children. We visited the location where the angel appeared to the children. It was a wonderful feeling to be standing in such close proximity to the spot where Mary stood when she appeared and where the Angel's appearance took place. I couldn't help but see myself, in my minds eye, there with the 3 children, looking up at Mary and receiving her message. I saw myself kneeling with the 3 children at the spot where the angel appeared to them, providing them with the message of prayer. As we walked the olive grove pathway, praying the Stations of the Cross, I was picturing the 3 children walking through the area herding their sheep, saying their rosary and talking among themselves about what they had seen and heard during Mary's appearance. I felt as though I was part of their group, sharing their experiences. I was feeling closer to God with each passing day. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to this area. If you ever get the opportunity to visit Fatima, I suggest you go. I believe that you will experience a deepening of your existing faith, an awakening of your slumbering faith or the start of a faith that didn't exist within you previously. Either way, you will be closer to God when you leave the area than you were when you arrived. What a great feeling you will have and it doesn't get any better than that.

If you are interested in religious history, this is a must see. Such a spiritual place. You can pick up a tour in Fatima, drive, or hike from the Basilica. In the village are the children's homes preserved as museums. And around the village, you can visit the places where they saw the apparitions, also preserved by the Basilica and marked with statues.

I liked the place its near to the Stations of the Cross just off to one side. The bushes were a bit overgrown making taking photos a bit restricted.

Such a beautiful and definitely holy place, don't take my word for it, please visit! I will go again, for it was written that Catholic's of Portugal will never loose their faith and those who visit will discover or reconnect with God! I love how peaceful it feels and how you definitely feel God's love!
