Probably the best restaurant in Funchal offering fantastic Portuguese and Continental meals at the same modest prices as eateries of far less distinction! We have gone back multiple times and never been disappointed. Owners delightful, decor elegant and comfortable, wonderful live acoustic guitar. Try the lamb chops or ask for a recommendation and you can't go wrong! Yes, even open during the pandemic, serving only a few tables at a time. Be sure to book and ask if music is planned.

Great Food with professional service and nice live music. We had a 3 course dinner in this authentic restaurant and enjoyed it very much. The whole experience was amazing which was pretty much completed by live musicians who accompanied us for 1.5 hours.

We had a great time there! Service & Food was excellent! Anabela served us and she was a wonderful host! We will be coming back again when we are next in Madeira! Thank you

Beautiful interior. Food wise: fish special was good, but quite a bit on the salty side. Desert with madeira was godlike. Wine/madeira was okay. Would return just for that desert.

Casa Portuguesa certainly looks and feels like someones home. The decoration is lavish and the welcome very warm and friendly. The menu isn't over stated and the steak was melt in your mouth delicious. Plus the sabayon desert was warm, light and extremely tasty. Maybe a little more expensive than other restaurants in the area but worth every euro.

did we miss something? No seriously have we missed something...?? Average and expensive,,, perhaps the fact that the wine was served in plastic glasses is a bit of a giveaway?

Best quality restaurant we ate in in Madeira. Nice staff. Excellent food and even a great guitarist on Saturday night.
