A real surprise! Miles of firm paths, wide open grassy areas and interesting pieces of industrial art. A lovely place for a Sunday afternoon walk.

A great place to walk the dogs or go for a ride on your bike or horse! It's a huge area that would take a couple of hours to get round if you wanted to walk round it all. From the small car park you walk up quite a steep path right to the top of the hill. From the top you get amazing views of the surrounding countryside and villages. There's also some information plaques on the top telling you about Frickley Mine. It really is a lovely nature park and I will be back to walk the dogs again very soon.
Always lovely to blow off some steam here. Great for sledging too!
Long walks through the heritage of what was 2 collieries South Elmsall and Frickley, interesting to see the memorials where the shafts where showing just how deep the mines actually were the kids enjoyed it on their scooters too as some paths are suitable for these to go on.
Lovely country area, amazing views!
