It is the last funicular of its type in Switzerland and it dates from 1899. It is not far away from the main train station. On a sunny day you can get magnificent views of the city, including the Cathedral. The trip itself lasts only a couple minutes so you better hurry up with those pictures! Friendly staff.

Praktisch um in die Oberstadt zu gelangen und schöne Aussicht. Einer der Mitarbeiter ist jedoch ziemlich unhöflich und macht stets einen abgelöschten Eindruck, schade.

Die Standseilbahn ist eine richtige Attraktion! In kurzer Zeit geht es von der Unterstadt nach oben. Allerdings ist der \Duft\ des Antriebs, nämlich die Abwässer Fribourgs, nichts für Zartbesaitete. Eine Einzelfahrt mit Halbtax-Abo kostet CHF 2.20 (Stand 2018), GA-Inhaber fahren gratis. Wem das zu teuer ist, der kann auch die steile Treppe gleich nebenan benutzen, beim alljährlichen Treppenrennen (tzampata) liegt der Männerrekord bei 55 Sekunden für 303 Treppenstufen und 52 Meter Höhe! Also los!
Petit funiculaire qui ne manque pas de charme. Personnel sympa. Possibilité aussi de monter ou descendre via des escaliers qui suivent le trajet non loin de la voie, le long d'anciens remparts.
