Lovely restaurant just outside Freiburg in a peaceful, lakeside setting (as the name suggests). Friendly service and food and drinks arrived quickly. Menu is local, and not massive, so a few dishes done very well. More than happy with the food itself. Decent beer and wine too. Well, well worth searching out..

We walked to Waldsee without making a reservation beforehand. This was no problem at all. Waldsee is taking the Covid-19 rules seriously, which I appreciate. The waiter was really friendly and helpful. In the end we wanted to order a dessert. The waiter adviced us to take a specific one, which we of course chose to eat. I don't rememt the name anymore, but you can see the picture. It tasted amazing! I recommend everybody to go to Waldsee and also order this dessert.

Had an amazing goat cheese salad! The staff was super helpful ready to assist us in English.
Gorgeous location! A bit of an insider tip for locals. Coffee and hot chocolate were good. Service was ok, but it’s a place I go back to every once in awhile just to enjoy the location or the free jazz concerts Tuesday nights.
