My husband and I went here on our first date years ago and I fell in love with this place. Their food is AMAZING (please try their she crab soup), and the staff is great and attentive. We now spend our anniversary dinners here yearly, as well as visiting for other occasions. The quality of food and staff is consistent.

Highly recommend this place. The service was awesome. Owen was very attentive and polite. He recommended the award-winning She Crab Soup and Salmon Oscar. I trusted him all the way and was not disappointed. The soup had the best, creamiest flavor and noticeable chunks of crab meat. The salmon was grilled to perfection with a great flavor. Everything was fresh and hot. The atmosphere was unique and overall this was a great experience.

If you're in downtown Norfolk, VA, you will not regret a lunch or dinner visit to the Freemason Abbey Restaurant. The atmosphere is ideal and the food is absolutely delicious! Definitely try their award winning She-Crab Soup! Everything was great. I highly recommended this restaurant.

The setting is perfect. The ambience is perfect. The she-crab soup was perfect. After a large broiled seafood platter, I wish I had room for dessert... The tray looked amazing, but I was stuffed. Oh, the crab dip appetizer was perfect. If I need to find something to pick on, the scallops were served a bit colder than I'd like. But not even a big deal. A fantastic place to dine.

This was my favorite dish from them, and I would go there just for this soup. The ribs and crab cakes weren't particularly spectacular, but there was nothing wrong with them. The portion was just right for all the food - neither too big or too small. The cocktail drinks (Podunk Punch and Bittersweet Holiday) had the right amount of sweetness.
