I've been to the Freehold in Brooklyn 3 times, the first 2 were a really pleasant experience, good service, hip vibes, and relaxed atmosphere, However, my 3rd visit was on Thanksgiving, I made a reservation online, and came with a date, imagine my immense embarrassment when I came there and it was CLOSED!!!!!! I called the number on the website but it went straight to an automated message system, so there I was, completely left with nothing to do on that special night, thank G-D for the picnic tables on the road and the decent weather, so we sat there and had a good time, another date also came and was disappointed to fine it closed, because both of us had made reservations online, and the website didn't say it was closed, so back to the matter at hand, I'm not so sure if I would recommend this place to anyone, maybe if they show some more professionalism, but otherwise it coukd cause some unwanted and unwarranted disappointment.

Great experience, I went during the night time. Very relaxing music, played by an in house DJ. The bartenders are social and attentive to your order. You don't feel pressured to order and they are helpful in offering suggestions to help you choose. The food menu is fairly priced and vegan options are available per request if the menu doesn't suite your taste.
During these socially distanced times with limited options, Freehold's outdoor seating in their courtyard is an awesome experience, and the thin crust pizza is great. They offer some standard pizza types, but also some more creative options as well. Good ambiance and a great mix with the crowd as well.
No waiters, must order food through app. You have to get your own water. After you finish eating or get another round of drinks, no one will bus your table, so you just have to sit there and stare at burnt pizza crusts and crumbs as you continue socializing. You’re still asked to tip 18% though, and pay an extra 10% “covid”surcharge — even though they are doing less work because of covid, not more. Food is mediocre.
Charges a 10% 'Covid Surcharge' without any advance notice. Not cool. Charge whatever you want, but be honest about it. And don't lie to your customers and say that the city requires it and that the money is being charged by the city..
