We like this place. A smallish pizza chain that doesn't feel like a chain, excellent pizzas and some very interesting and inventive starters are complemented by a short but adequate drinks list including some well priced cocktails and a selection of organic Italian wines. Well worth a try.

We were visiting the area for a few days and thought we’d make the most of their September eat out to help out on Monday evening. This was before the government announced a 10pm closure of restaurants. The website states they close at 10pm and we arrived at 836pm and joined the virtual queue, getting a confirmation straight away advising there was zero waiting time. As we could see several empty tables, this seemed likely. There were two staff who seemed to do their best to ignore us and another couple who had arrived. Eventually, a waitress came over and said they were no longer serving as they were closing the kitchen, even though we’d had a text saying our table was ready. We asked why, and she said that was what her manager had told her. She offered us a take away and said it would be included in the eat out to help out deal. The lady in the other waiting couple went to order and when it came to paying, the same waitress then decided take away wasn’t in fact part of the deal. It was still only 850pm. That’s over one hour to take an order, make it and serve it. We easily could have been in and out well before 10pm. She just kept saying that was what her manager had told her. It was a shame that the said manager wasn’t decent enough to come out themselves and have the conversation with us. I expect I’ll get a cut and pasted response to this review demonstrating how little they really care. Just as well we don’t live in Bath as we’ll never go back.
I had a great time at Franco Manca. Their virtual queue was simple to join and we were seated really quickly. I ordered the meat special with lamb sausage-delicious! The lemonade is lovely too. The staff are really helpful and attentive. I will definitely visit again!
The place is Covid-19 safe. The service is relatively fast but the pizza dough is not that great. With visiting though if you don't have reservation in advance as many restaurants get packed quickly. Franco manca allows you to queue quickly just by scanning a code outside the place.
Best pizza I have had in a long time. Definitely worth the price. Would highly recommend. Plus a great staff and clean restaurant.
