My girlfriend and I have been to Franco Manca several times. Last week there was little left on the menu which is understandable due to the eat out to help out scheme, however the waitress suggested something new and it was lovely! We were back again last night and ordered what we previously wanted the previous week - Parma ham and rocket salad Tomato and mozzarella pizza which it was delicious. The service was fantastic and staff were really friendly! The Gelato - esp their vanilla bean ice cream is delicious! We will definitely will be going back there again soon! A spontaneous stopover for lunch: great pizzas, and lovely salad. Superb value.
Very tasty food and welcoming staff!! A big thanks to Giusy and Agata who served us with a huge smile on their face, lot of care and attention to details. Also well done to the chef Angelo who served us an amazing and tasty pizza which definitely satisfied us! We visited in a very busy day and time but the staff manage to take our order and serve us the food within 20 minutes which is absolutely impressive! Thank you again guys your are a credit and you are doing a great job!
After an evening of Christmas shopping my siblings, a friend and I decided to stop off for a meal at Franco Manca in Exeter. Upon arrival we were greeted somewhat reluctantly, we got the idea that we weren’t really welcomed but we were quite exhausted after our shopping trip so decided to go ahead. The menu I think is somewhat lacking in the variety of drinks (I ordered the lemonade thinking it would be refreshing however the ginger overpowered it and I did not enjoy it at all) as well as dips/sauces to accompany the pizzas, may I suggest a warm garlic sauce or a rich tomato one perhaps? The waitress who served us seemed abrupt and dismissive, not warm or friendly in any respect which I think is quite important in a hospitality setting... The food arrived quickly which is a positive however the dough was incredibly limp and verging undercooked. The garlic pizza side was heavily over seasoned which made it too over powering to enjoy Our table was not checked on once to see if we were enjoying our food or needed anything else. We ate a good bit of the food as we were very weary but did not enjoy it, with one of our party only having one slice.. we paid up and left and again was not asked if we enjoyed our experience. I used to work in the hospitality/waiting industry myself for a number of years so I am usually very empathetic and not one to write this kind of reviews but I just found the whole experience very rushed and awkward.. overall I would suggest some friendlier hosting and a bit more of variety and a descriptive menu, in my opinion.
A great location, friendly staff, and tasty pizza. The cider doesn't dissapoint either! I have been to Franco Manca before and loved it - this one doesn't dissapoint.
