Nice place to have a walk around. Nice friendly pub for a drink and something to eat. Well worth stopping.
Parking is a little cheaper than the lower carpark (November 2020 2 per day cash) although if you pay online you are charged an extra 10% which is only partially clear in the very small print and displays the greed of the parking agent. Phoning to pay is apparently a lengthy process - one person complained of a 10 minute wait to get through. There is a 8 - 12 minute very pleasant walk to the top lock from here.
Big car park with plenty of space. Even more room when the overflow is open. 2 to park for 0 to 24 hours if you pay in cash. 2.30 for the same if you pay by phone. Toilets in car park including disabled. Please note toilets are not open 24 hours and parking expires at midnight so no overnight parking.
Nice car park in amongst the trees. Lots of room and an overflow car park if its busy. About a 5 min walk to the locks along a path. There is a height barrier in place but it was open when we went so campers and motorhomes weren't a problem. There is a toilet block, but, well car park toilets you know what they're like.
