I visited FORTUNE HOUSE in Preston on Nov 29, 2020. I hadn't been to Preston before and finding it only slightly more cheery than a visit to Chernobyl, I decided to have some takeout food to cheer myself up. Fortune House helped a lot, with a family hailing from the epicentre of Hong Kong take out food excellence, Shatin in the New Territories, I knew this food would be delicious but I was taken by surprise when they scored a HUGE 19/20 on my 'chicken balls scale of destiny' APPEARANCE: the chicken balls were well fired, with. golden to dark brown crunchy exterior and a still moist interior, you can tell they have mastered the art of deep frying and are perhaps even elevating it. 5/5 TEXTURE: with the real crunchy exterior and still moist interior, these were the perfect yin/ yang dichotomy. Personally, I would have liked them a touch more dry internally but thats me nit picking. 4/5 PORTION: upon returning to my domicile, I was convinced that they had given me a double portion in error. the most generous portion of balls I have ever seen. 5/5 SAUCE: perfect color. AMBER. not day glo orange like so many establishments. Well cooked, sticky and not overly sweet with a good assortment of carrot, green pepper and pineapple. the carrots were even shaped into flowers. It seems attention to detail is important to FORTUNE HOUSE. 5/5 PRICE. I would have been happy to pay much more for the meal. I suggest they increase prices immediately. 5/5. TOTAL: 19/20 Fortune house slides into the number one slot on the Global Chicken Ball Scale of Destiny
