Maybe I'm the anomaly, but I personally did not like her. She lacks empathy and has no regard for her patients. And I met another parent with a similar experience in a support group I'm in. But after waiting 3 months for a new patient appt, she refused to see my daughter after arriving 10 to 15 mins late for an hour appt. She insisted we reschedule and wait another 3 months for a brand new appt. Totally unreasonable! Why would you not at least salvage some of the remaining time and at least try to see a sick child??? Like who does this? I accidentally missed another appointment (got my times mixed up by a whole 30 or 45 mins) at another Cooks Speciality Clinic in the same building and the dr insisted on seeing my daughter and just worked us in even though I was happy to reschedule because ultimately it was error. And mind you, he doesn't have a 3 month wait. A dr who truly cares about their patients will go the extra mile and do the right thing. And even when i requested to speak to her directly, the coward refused to speak to me in person or by phone. Its not like she had anything to do for the next 45 minutes, as she was originally scheduled for an appt. Eventually, I reluctantly rescheduled the appt. But after thinking about it and meeting other parents who too had negative experiences with her, I immediately cancelled my appt and rescheduled with the other doctor in the clinic. I refuse to play around with a clown when it comes to my daughter's health! Sorry not sorry! I beg of you, go elsewhere!!!

Dr. Perez is very knowledgeable. I thought she was a Godsend. That was until my daughter turned 18 and even though she still had kids Star Medicaid, Dr. Perez dropped her 2 months later. Not even giving her enough medicine to last until the JPS appt 5 months later. When she called to see about a refill, she was told o\ She couldn't even prescribe her meds to hold her over until her appointment at JPS. She sent her to JPS and referred her to one of the most arrogant POS doctors I've ever met. Also, she would ask her EVERYTIME she went to see her, if she was a virgin. Why everytime?! AND always acted like she didn't believe her. My Skylar passed away on May 7th. I don't just blame Dr. Perez I also blame Texas Medicaid, the US healthcare system and JPS.

Dr. Perez is a great Specialist..... she's taking care of my son for almost a year now and I must say she the best!!!!

Dr Maria Perez is very knowledgeable about Rheumatology and Autoimmune diseases. She actually took the time to explain clearly and address my 7th grader whom after leaving the clinic stated “Wow now I feel educated and fully aware of what’s going on”. Dr Perez’s bedside manner was beautiful she listened and took the time to explain and answer all questions asked. Can’t say enough on our experience today with Dr. Perez. Thank you so much!!

Dr. Perez has been amazingover the past year in the diagnoses and treatment of my daughter who has a rare autoimmune disease. Her level of knowledge, personal attention, caring demeanor, attention to detail, and warm personality have been an answer to our prayers! One of the best in my opinion.
