With every military installation, some houses are going to be better or newer than others, but each has its own problems. We’re located in South Leiber Heights. Our home is on the older side. Weird set up. Hard wood floors. Water pressure sucks. Mold in all the bathrooms. Maintenance helps the best they can but there’s no upkeep.

Power goes out constantly. Protect your appliances by having surge protectors, they will take no responsibility. You're better off by just staying offpost.

Dont believe the hype about the conversion, they were poorly constructed and have air vents in the floor opposed to in the ceiling.....not a good plan for anyone with allergies. I was told when we arrived here that there was not many options for housing, later to find out there were plenty of options in the newer housing area. I tried to explain to the lady that my family and I arrived here from Fort Polk....we were sick of living in dump housing and really wanted a nice home this time around.....yeah well that didn't happen. You would think that an E7 who has served for 20 years could at the very least get a house with a carport.....nope we had to settle for a house that looks like 1950s barracks.
