We booked to have dinner at the Fork & Field in Mid Calder last night. We had read previous reviews and we thought we would give it a try. We were escorted to our seats promptly. Staff were wearing masks & social distancing in place. Service was prompt and food was delicious and well presented. Nice relaxed atmosphere. This has been our first meal here but will not be our last. We would highly recommend.

I loved this place. Friendly atmosphere and the staff were amazing with my 2 young children. My sister had her dog and she was even offered free sausages!! The food is second to none.. even my sons cheeseburger of the kids menu looked first class. Strongly recommend especiall6 for families wanting something nice to eat

My friends and I came here for lunch on Sat 29th August and we were thoroughly looking forward to it as this was the last place that we visited together in March before lock down and the food was incredible. I work in high end hospitality and it was just as good as some five star dishes I have previously had. So anyway my friends traveled all the way from Glasgow for our post Lockdown reunion and unfortunately it was like a completely different restaurant. The menu was sparse to say the least with more room been taken up with the chefs bio than actual dishes on there. We sat for about 20 mins in disbelief that there was nothing on there we wanted to eat. We had come for a full 3 course lunch and the only thing I ended up reluctantly eating was the steak which was tasteless and served with a peppercorn sauce which was more like watered down milk and served in a bowl not a jug I’d be very surprised if any dishes other than fish and chips, burger and steak ever sell. Then had a hot chocolate which was colder than my Irn Bru with ice. Both my friends had similar issues and all I can say is we are gutted that this place has completely bombed and we will never be back and will also spread the word about how awful it now is. Also there is no COVID protection in place and the place is filthy. Waiting staff pretty oblivious to anything and couldn’t really answer any menu questions with confidence. Please don’t waste your time or money, McDonald’s is far better

Lovely meal of scallop and fish and chips at lunch. Staff were nice. Wouldnt have minded a third scallop :) Enjoyed it. Its hood quality and the prices are a higher than other places, but you see they prode themselves on having a differnet take om certain dishes. Lovely place
