I had to work late in downtown this past weekend so one of my co-workers suggested Folliero on Figueroa in Highland Park. I know about Casa Bianca but not this place and oh boy, have I been missing out. The pizza is just WOW! The crust is doughy but crisp and utterly amazing. It's like eating freshly baked bread but only 100 times better. All the toppings are fresh. We got the Bianca pizza which is garlic and cheese without the red sauce and it was a slice of heaven. We also got a pepperoni and sausage pizza which was great as well. The reason for withholding the fifth star was that the penne with red sauce was a bit cold and runny and the salad was just blah. Who cares right when the pizza is incredible! So maybe four and a half stars for now.

Ordered the Pastrami for lunch and it was delicious! FYI- they only take cash. So stop by an ATM across the street before.
Super good! Was in the area and noticed I passed by a bunch of Italian delis and what not and decided I needed an eggplant parm sandwich. This was crazy affordable, and you got a lot!!! The only thing is they leave the skin on the eggplant which personally I’m not the biggest fan of since eggplant skin doesn’t really soften too much when cooked, but since it seems baked it was easy to slide off. It was also a really nice place, it reminded me of home in Providence on the hill. If you know, you know! Would for sure go again!
I’ve been coming here for years and every time they never fail me in the taste and quality of the food! I always love to celebrate my birthday with the best Italian food I’ve ever had! I am not doing justice by writing this review, it is much better that you do try it. You really can’t describe this place with just words...
This is by far better than any commercial pizzerias. You can taste the bread, sauce, cheese, sausage etc... all the fresh ingredients make it one of the best pizzas I've ever had! There is a reason why they are still in business for so many decades.
