What a wonderful company. Extremely quick delivery and excellent price. Best of all though, the staff are super helpful. Like most DIY people, I really am clueless when I have any issues, especially with something as specialist as wood staining. No YouTube video quite exactly tackled the issue I had, but within 10 mins of speaking to the staff, we'd diagnosed the issue and have some solutions - all of which worked. Many thanks from my household. We have a wonderful looking living room floor now!!

I purchased Osmo Polyx oil tints and Osmo Polyx oil natural from Wood Finishes Direct. First off, excellent customer support by Alison from Wood Finishes Direct - she ‘chatted’ to a first time DIY floor sander and finisher about what I needed to do and which product and it was delivered to me promptly and to schedule - full marks to Wood Finishes Direct! I took the plunge and rented a belt sander and edge sander. It was a bit of a nightmare and maybe paying someone 12m a square mtr to do the sanding may have been a better idea at least for me. My lessons learnt would be, do buy more than 1 dust bag and do get the various grades of sandpaper and not just the 120 fine grade. It became clear that my sanding was less than great, with the edges still showing traces of the old wax, and some irregular bits here and there. I was a bit worried, but I figured the Osmo tint would blend it nicely. The first coat went on easily using the Osmo brush and pole (very quick and rather relaxing to apply). However, when it dried it was still quite patchy due to my poor sanding and I was beginning to panic. I stuck with it, told the wife I had it under control and applied the top coat of Osmo natural (again it was so quick and easy to apply). Oh what a relief, it did wonders, blending it all in and looking really good, maybe with a bit of a ‘not quite perfect’ look, but definitely good enough to my eye. So in summary, the Osmo product is really good and gets good results even if your DIY skills are as bad as mine :-)!
