Update: One of the drawers now wont close. The reply from Harriet below says she will pass on my review to the depot! Thus kitchen has been in place for less than 6 months, so perhaps Harriet you can bring someone in to fix it! Having had a great experience in our old house with Howdens, I was keen to use Howdens again for our new house. What a mistake this was. We wanted to replace an outdated one row kitchen with a new one, so nothing complicated. Throughout the process we got zero advice from the \designer\ who begrudgingly made changes when requested. When the quote of over 13k ( without worktops) arrived I asked for a discount and was told by the designer and manager that I was getting the units cheaper than they could buy them as staff; and that as they were making no profit, I was adding no value to their company they said. Most companies I think would be delighted with anyone spending 13k but apparently not. As the builders were due I was at the point of no return so despite being a o value\ customer I agreed to the kitchen. A couple of days before arrival my builder advised that the kitchen wasn't coming because I hadn't paid. Wouldn't it have been nice for Howdens to perhaps call me, instead of the builder letting me know? The units came, many incorrect so we had to continually change and do rework at my expense. At one point when the builders started putting some units up I asked what was going in a huge gap between the wall and another cupboard. I called Howdens and they told me I had signed this off! We now had an adequate kitchen with three cupboards that can't be opened and are for show plus a push to open door system that constantly gets stuck. Truly terrible.
