I always use the organic soil improver on my clients gardens and its a pleasure to use. It really does improve the soil and is a gorgeous dark black-brown. It smells great too. Prompt delivery. I'll be ordering again soon.

Weed infested compost and topsoil! Avoid! Pics speak for themselves. We’re a small lavender farm in Essex and wanted to support a fellow local business. We ordered a special mix of grit and compost for potting up small plug plants. We had 4,500 to pot up. So when one of the bulky bags was weed infested it caused a huge problem for us as the weeds started to strangle the small plants. The extra labour to constantly weed was costly. Further implications of planting these plants into the ground with weed infested soil was also a huge issue. Field Compost did replace the bag and Chris was really helpful. We gave them benefit of the doubt and ordered again from them. Recently however we had the same issue with the top quality top soil. We used it for domestic purposes around the garden as top soil and spread the whole bulk bag over the newly planted up flower beds. As you can see from the pics it’s been a constant weed battle ever since. They just keep growing. It’s back breaking!! Ben from field compost replied to my photos and compliant and without asking or listening sent out 6 small bags of mulch to suppress further weeds growing which would hardly even cover a small corner of the area even if I did want it. He then offered me 30% off my next purchase from them.... so in essence.... here’s a huge bulk bag of weed infested soil, you will have to constantly weed your flower bed and then spend a few more hundred pounds with us to fix the issue..... nice! no thank you! I did point this out on email to Ben but I’ve had no response... funny that
The soil blends from Field Compost are excellent products. I have received multiple orders and I literally love this stuff. The consistency of the soil, the warmth from the bag and the aroma give me great confidence of how well my vegetables will grow. Direct sown seeds have all germinated and plants are growing strongly despite the drought we have had. Delivery has been exactly as planned on each occasion.
Very helpful with quick response to query. Ordered ericaceous soil bulk bag , delivered within the week and placed exactly where i needed. Lovely fine dark soil. Would certainly use Field compost again.
