Nice get away for the whole family. Includes plenty of activities for everyone that includes fishing, relaxing sauna for the adults, annual pot-luck every Tuesday or Wednesday depending on what day the owner wants it. Swimming in muskosung lake, hiking, e.t.c all cabins on the camp are just beautiful especially the cabins in front of the lake. All together, It's just a beautiful place to be for vacation.
Worth the 5 hour drive for the peace and great fishing. Always warm and welcoming at Camp Horizon
One of the most picturesque places in all of Ontario, truly! It's the perfect location for a family vacation, with lots of activities for kids, kayaking, canoeing, and paddle boarding. Not to mention the boat rentals for those who have their license and like to fish! There is a large dock to fish off of as well for those who don't have their boating license. Meticulously cleaned cottages, filled with all utensils, pots, pans and cooking accessories. All you need to bring is your groceries! Which you can get from local grocery stores, and a few camping essentials from the store on site. Fresh baked goods at the camp as well! The owners are down to earth, and very, very friendly --they really want everyone to have an amazing experience! They're always happy to see a new face, or a returning one. I recommend this place to anyone looking for relaxing, outdoorsy getaway with a welcoming environment. There aren't enough stars I can give!
Very quiet and family friendly place
Booking a bear hunt through this outfitter is an absolute farce. We were lied to and mislead from the very beginning. From being told that there were 2 bears shot the week before we got there (we were told by the former owner and some of the locals there were none) to being told the baits were baited daily and being hit (early morning visits and multiple game cameras told us different). We were told baiting had started in the spring..... why would he have to break trail into the stands the day we got there? the treestands were decrepit and unsafe. We booked a hunt through this outfitter (I use that term loosely) and feel that we were robbed of both our money and our vacation time. Maybe we were naive to think that if someone was to offer a bear hunt that they would at least show an effort to provide one. STAY AWAY.
Great owners lake is beautiful for fishing and children
Bear hunt trip 1200.00 per person Saturday to Saturday August 24. Yes early but just said he baits spring to end of bear hunt in fall. I beg to differ yes he does bait but only when you get there or day before. Has lots of stories. Never stoped in all week after showing hunting grounds. Cabins we had run down has the bedding and dishes but not we’ll keep. I feel the hunt and rooms were over priced for what we received. Hunt was on crown land but baited by cabin owners. So has traffic and four wheels al around. As for me it’s a two star hunt this is only my view. The neighbours and locals are very nice. (Outlook) run down, little effort.
