A comprehensive,never-boring collection of paintings by artists hired by the Este family and their court when leading the city in the Renaissance era,and after that:Garofalo,Gentile da Fabriano and original Cosmé Tura are well represented,though you will surprisingly find El Greco too! You will easily spend an hour and a half touring this pinacoteca. Absolutely worth your time!!

Wonderful architectural gem (from the outside) with a somewhat disappointing exhibition on the inside (with some rooms closed). Nonetheless, the permanent collection contains masterpieces by such masters as Gentile da Fabriano, Cosme Tura, Mantegna, Garofalo and Guercino.

Fantastica mostra permanente di opere di notevole pregio che spaziano dalla metà del 1300 fino al 1600. Arte sacra e non solo, con in più l'occasione di visitare le stanze del 2 piano di Palazzo dei Diamanti. Molto interessante.

L'ho visitata in occasione del riallestimento del 13 Dicembre 2018 e sono rimasto positivamente impressionato dal lavoro che la Pinacoteca (in collaborazione con le Gallerie Estensi) sono riusciti a fare. I grandi artisti della pittura rinascimentale Ferrarese sono valorizzati da un nuovo approccio multimediale. Due sale sono dedicate alla didattica con video e pannelli interattivi davvero suggestivi. Da visitare assolutamente, il futuro dell'allestimento per il museo.
