We paid for piano and guitar lessons for our 2 sons. When lockdown started, online classes were eventually made available however, my 6 year old cannot learn to play the guitar via zoom and nor can my 11 yr old son learn to play piano via zoom. We declined the online classes and were told we could resume when classes could be in person. Once classes resumed, Karen refused to give us a credit or refund for the missed time from March to June saying her contract states no refunds. considering the circumstances, we expected better treatment and feel this was completely unfair. I have been going to Performance Studios for piano lessons since I was 3 where I started in Kindermusik moved into Music for Young Children and then Keyfest followed. As I grew up so did my love for playing music and the piano. Everyone at Performance Studios is very nice and welcoming even if you are not their student. I feel like I am part of a family whenever I go to improve my piano and music skills.
My son loves music because of Karen and the programs she teaches! This morning he voluntarily played a mini concert for his classmates from memory! As a parent it's so encouraging to see their child excel in what they enjoy. I'm positive that my son would NOT have sat through traditional conservatory type lessons! It is the Music For Young Children and Keyfest programs, as well as Karen's enthusiasm and genuine interest/dedication to teaching my son, that have ensured he remains positively engaged in music on a daily basis. Thank you for all you do Karen!!
My son and I had a wonderful experience in the Music for Young Children program at Performance Studios! The group program, with parents participating, was very different from the music lessons I experienced growing up - I was amazed at how engaged the kids were with this format, and Karen is a fabulous teacher, keeping the lessons fun, active, and always encouraging. The students learn a great mix of technique, theory, and comfort/enthusiasm about performing...my son now loves to play music for an audience and playing piano is now an important part of his life. The only reason we are no longer in the program is that we moved away, but Karen went so far as to connect us with a music teacher in our new town - that is how much she truly cares about her students. I would highly recommend this music studio!
